Severe Corrosion Dual-Laminate Solution

PVDF + FRP Chemical Storage Tanks

Engineered dual-laminate composite tanks combining the extreme chemical inertness of Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) liners with high-tensile fiberglass structural reinforcement for high-temperature oxidizing media.

Severe Chemical Compatibility Profile

PVDF + FRP dual laminate construction is specifically selected when conventional metallic tanks (SS316L, Hastelloy) or standard polyolefins (HDPE, PP) suffer from chemical attack, stress cracking, or thermal degradation.

The Dual-Laminate Composite Principle

A PVDF + FRP storage tank unites two distinct, complementary material layers into a single monolithic vessel wall:

1. PVDF Chemical-Contact Barrier (3-5 mm)

Polyvinylidene Fluoride provides a mirror-smooth, fluorinated wetted surface with outstanding chemical resistance against hot halogens, oxidizing acids, and high-purity solvents.

2. FRP Structural Composite Reinforcement

Multi-layered vinyl ester resin (Derakane 411/470 equivalent) reinforced with E-Glass structural roving, providing mechanical load-bearing strength and seismic wind resistance.

Available Configurations & Orientations

ASK Innocomp engineers and custom fabricates PVDF + FRP vessels tailored to plant footprints and process requirements:

  • Vertical PVDF + FRP Storage Tanks: Flat bottom or conical bottom for efficient liquid drainage and minimal floor area utilization.
  • Horizontal Tanks with Dished Ends: Low-profile storage for height-restricted containment dykes and indoor processing halls.
  • Custom Process Reaction Vessels: Fitted with internal heating coils, agitator bridges, baffle plates, and multiple nozzle flanged connections.
  • Pressurized Filter Vessels: ASME-compliant dual-laminate filter columns rated for positive pressure and full vacuum service.
